The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering sees its task in preparing technically skilled employees, executives and teachers for versatile occupational fields in the manufacturing industry, service companies, 
in trade and consulting as well as in education. Research and teaching build upon a broad engineering basis and focus on the profiles of production engineering, industrial management and logistics. In doing so, an extensive spectrum of research and development tasks is covered, ranging from the production to the distribution of goods. The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering meets these challenges of today with clearly defined and future-oriented programs of study. The 16 professorial chairs represent our internationally recognized expertise. The faculty has a top position in the field of research, an excellent standing in the business world and is known for its progressive teaching methods.
