6. ICPLT (Interdisciplinary Conference on Production, Logistics and Traffic)

The conference, which is held every two years alternately at the TU Darmstadt and the TU Dortmund University of Technology, deals with the interfaces of production, logistics and transport and this year primarily addresses research results related to the topics of sustainability and resilience in logistics.

In his welcome address, conference chairman Prof. Dr.-Ing. Uwe Clausen - Director of the Institute for Transport Logistics at TU Dortmund University and Fraunhofer IML - addressed resilience, i.e. the ability to respond to disruptions, possible measures in transport and logistics systems, and the task of science for sustainable transport logistics. In the first keynote lecture, Dr.-Ing. Maria Tsavachidis - CEO of the European joint project EIT Urban Mobility - reported on the experiences of European cities in mobility and discussed further innovative projects.

In other keynote presentations, international logistics company DB Schenker, speaker Dr. Joachim Weise - Senior Vice President Data Strategy and Analytics - gave an insight into the group's network optimization. From an economic perspective, Prof. Dr. Hubertus Bardt - Head of Science at the Institut der Deutschen Wirtschaft - will report on supply chains, changes in costs and investments in times of global crises. A further 28 national and international papers will be presented in sessions on topics relating to freight and passenger transport, from analysis and planning methods to alternative drives.
